2032 NFL Week 1: Seahawks vs. Redskins; On the Right Path

It's the most wonderful time of the year. Football has returned to CenturyLink Field in the Emerald City after a long offseason that involved Eugene Krabbs shipping off some loyal veterans in order to rebuild for the future. NFL Commissioner Rob Gronkowski was voted in after Adam West stepped down due to undetermined circumstances. Gronk showed up to this week's matchup in Seattle as Brandon Clapp led the Seahawks as they faced off against Seahawk foe, Kris Stewart and the Washington Redskins.

The Seahawks started four of their 12 draft picks. They all made a significant impact in their debut. Kris Stewart tried to revenge his last defeat, but along with the rookies, the vets came out to play.

First possession for the Redskins turned into six points for the Seahawks. MLB Sean Fernandez intercepted Stewart's first pass of the game and ran it all the way to the Hawk Zone. Seahawk football was back.

"It's always great to get the 12th man up on their feet especially with a play like that," Fernandez told reporters after the game. "I was expecting AJ (Brown) to be the first one of the year. That would have went viral."

While a lot of veterans left town, one shockingly returned after only one meeting. AJ Brown came home and even scored a TD. His first in a Seahawks uniform since 2028.

"It was unbelievable. The crowd welcomed me back like I never left. It was a really cool moment," Brown said after the game.

Kris Stewart threw four interceptions, while Brandon Clapp had four touchdowns. Clapp had an interception as well while only throwing for 275 yards.

"I just wanted to go out there and throw the football," Clapp said. "We all have a job to do on the field and I'm just trying to do whatever it takes to be leading by the end of the game."

Clapp lost six games last season by a touchdown or less. The Seahawks inability to close out games will need to be improved by the time they play their division rivals. Luckily, that was not the case today.

"BClapp is our guy. He had a rookie season that bruised him, but also educated him on what he needs to do to become a hall of famer in this league," Krabbs said about Clapp's performance and plans moving forward.

Clapp took home NFC Player of the Week honors for his performance. Can he repeat in Lambeau this week? Let's hope so for Eugene's sake.
